5 Dimes Going Downhill Quickly

It's only been a week or so since the mighty Tony decided to clean house and get rid of his best employee, Nicole. I just closed my account there after the one week after being a faithful customer there the last 2 years. Typical of 5 Dimes, their website crashed and burned again on Saturday. There must have been more than 5 people trying to place wagers at once.

My biggest concern was how slow they were grading games the last week or so. I've had to call in and get games graded that had been completed for over 3 hours. These were soccer games, Euro Hockey, etc in which all the scores are found on livescore. I also had to call in to get NBA games graded over 45 minutes after they were completed. My other books had them graded as always within a minute or so.

5Dimes also just seems to have an arrogance about them that their sh*t don't stink and if you don't like it, go F yourself. This comes from their fearless leader Tony, that told me directly he lost his rear on Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. He stated the book won big so it all evened out. What the heck size of wagers does he make if his loss balanced out the books huge win with USC? I never had a problem getting paid there including several payouts in the last week but there are so many more viable options out there.

Tony is the worst sportsbook manager on the planet

I joined 5 Dimes about 3 months ago due to their extensive wagering menu.

I placed a bet on a prop which was reversed and I NEVER received an email.

When I checked my pending wagers I saw the wager was NOT listed so I emailed customer service to see what happened.

I got an INCREDIBLY RUDE RESPONSE from Tony and he stated that if I would like to question his decision about reversing the wager, then he will go ahead and disable my account for prop and internet wagering.

It turns out the bet would have lost but I immediately withdrew all my money and closed my account as I would NEVER deal with a piece of garbage like Tony.

I strongly recommend to all those with accounts at 5 Dimes to close their accounts and bet elsewhere.

If a firm is stupid enough to put an idiot in charge like Tony, then I can't see how they can be reputable.

Just my 2 cents.

Tony is not just in charge, he is the owner. My friend closed his account there about two weeks ago as he called to get a wager graded and was told very rudely, it will get graded when they get to it. He said the guy was a jerk. I asked him who he spoke to and he said a guy named Tony. Once I told him Tony was the owner, he was done there.

kinda bummed to read all this. i like 5 dimes because of all the options they have.

never had to deal with customer service.

i will keep a close eye on them from now on though.

I would still highly recommend this book as they have been great to me. I don't deal with CS over the phone so I avoid the problems.

Yeah I saw this post at another forum too. It got shot down - rightfully so IMO. It sounds like some sort of vendetta to me. We're not getting a complete story here.

All the posters I trust (who shot down that other thread) still like 5 Dimes just fine. They're a top 5 book for me. I've used them for years.

I could pick this apart point-by-point by I don't work for 5 Dimes. Use them, don't use them - I don't care. Just saying what I believe.

I have no vendetta. Take a look at my previous posts. I've been as big a 5 Dimes backer as anyone. They pay as quick as anyone and they obviously have more lines than anyone. However, Nicole was fantastic. Someone started a thread here the day Nicole was fired voicing their concerns over the firing and the customer service problems they had encountered. Was it a coincidence that the changes that were made there coincided with the delay in grading wagers? I don't know. It was stated to me by Nicole that they had fired her boyfriend a couple of weeks earlier and he was in charge of grading the games. I never had to call in the past so often to get games graded. I understand that EuroHockey will not be graded as soon as the game is over but 3 hours is ridiculous. Did you have problems last Saturday getting into their website? Everyone else did. There were several Sundays this year where their website was down. Do I think 5 Dimes is a top 5 book? Heck yes. I'd still put them #1. However, they need to correct some things very quickly to stay there in my eyes. Did I mention to stay away from 5 Dimes at anytime in my post? No. I just voiced my opinion that they were going downhill at this time. I'm sure I'll be back there come NCAA tournament time once they straighten out things after their housecleaning.

I don't believe this is a vendetta. I love 5 dimes for the different varieties of lines they offer but he's telling the truth, their CS is horrendous. Better yet they can be extremely rude as well.

I love 5 Dimes. I haven't been a customer that long, but I enjoy playing there. I had one customer service issue, and called them immediately. They apologized, and corrected the problem right away. They pay within an hour of requesting a payout. They have more lines than betting options than anyone else, and have early overnights. No complaints from me. My one question would be....if you really don't like this Tony guy, why not play there and beat him and take his money? If you're betting sports, you're playing to win. Why not beat someone you don't like. Just a thought.
